District Fencing

A map of a residential area in Commerce City, showing fence types and locations, with Turnberry Elementary School marked.

District Owned/Maintained Fencing

The District owns and maintains approximately 12,440 linear feet of fencing located throughout the District. Maintenance of these fence lines represents a significant financial investment and expense to the District. Although none of the fence lines are not currently in need of replacement, the replacement cost of these fence lines is estimated to be approximately $680,000.

Homeowners whose lots border District fence lines are responsible for maintaining landscaping, pets and other conditions on their lots in a manner that does not damage or otherwise accelerate the wear and tear of the District's fences. The District will bill the respective homeowners for any costs incurred by the District to repair owner-caused damages to the District's fence lines.

The Board's current fence policy can be accessed and downloaded from the District's document library.
